Active Threat Training and Drill

Active Threat Training and Drill

In light of events around the country and heightened awareness regarding active threats on campus, we encourage all faculty and staff to participate in two events in the upcoming months.

On March 24, 2017, from 10 AM - 11:30 AM in the Atrium Lobby, the Department of Emergency Management and the University Police will provide training on active threat prevention and preparedness. This prevention and response training provides valuable information about the characteristics, prevention tools, and response techniques that may be used before and during an active shooter or threat situation. Please register for this training by clicking here.

Although it has not been scheduled yet, the Department of Emergency Management and the University Police will conduct an active threat drill in MHC. We are hoping to schedule this before the end of the semester. We are working on a drill for the PCD building, but other employees working outside of MHC are invited to participate in the MHC drill. This drill will begin at 6:30 AM and end by 8 AM and, although participation in the drill is encouraged, it is strictly voluntary. Please click here if you would like more information or would like to participate in the drill. You MUST attend the training on March 24 if you wish to participate in the drill.
