2019 Summer Research Institute at FMHI

We would like to welcome our Summer Research Institute (SRI) scholars this Summer. This past year we received funding through the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) for five years with a focus on addiction and co-occurring disorders. We received many applications from around the country for the 12 undergraduate slots. The selection and mentor matching process has resulted in a cohort that is culturally diverse as well as one that is highly skilled academically. The 12 undergraduates are from 11 institutions in eight different states. Our goal is actively engage some of the best and brightest students in research in behavioral health and to establish long-term professional relationships with them to help them in their careers. We believe that we benefit as much from our interactions with the students as they do from the mentorship we provide.

We welcome our SRI scholars and mentors to the SRI@FMHI and are excited about this Summer! Our scholars will be presenting their final research presentation on Wednesday, July 31st in the afternoon. We will be sending out more information later this Summer!
