MHLP Professor to Provide Assistance in South Africa

Paul G. Stiles, JD, PhD, will be working with administrators, faculty and students at the University of the Witwatersrand (UW) in Johannesburg, South Africa this coming March 2020. Dr. Stiles has been on the Fulbright Specialist roster to assist universities in developing their research integrity programs, and collaborated with UW in this recent successful Fulbright award. For over 3 weeks this March, Dr. Stiles will be in Johannesburg evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of UW's research integrity policies and processes, assisting UW to create culturally sensitive ethics training for faculty and students researchers, providing several live workshops on ethics and responsible conduct of research that integrate South African law and regulation, and consulting with UW Biko Centre for Bioethics. He will also meet with the South African National Research Foundation in Pretoria to discuss funding of several initiatives. This Fulbright award adds another project to USF's growing list of successful applications to the Fulbright program.
