CBCS Core Collaborations Series - Part 5: Positive Child, Youth, & Family Development

The Departments of Child & Family Studies and the School of Social Work focus on programs and services that promote positive child, youth and family development. These programs help individuals and families discover and use positive resources and abilities within their own family and communities to address the challenges that affect their lives. By focusing on resiliency, coping skills, adaptability, and personal aspirations, our programs address emotional, behavioral and substance abuse problems and help to decrease the probability of abuse and negative health outcomes. Our work results in new strategies to support those working in schools, at home with families, in public agencies, and other child-serving organizations. Our research influences policies and practices in Florida and across the nation.
