CSD Assistant Professor and Research Associate Present in Italy

Emily Plowman, PhD, and Research Therapist Michelle Rosado traveled to the internationally renowned Neuromuscular Omnicomprehensive (NEMO) Center and the Fondazione Salvatore Maugerie Scientific Institute of Rehabilitation in Italy this May. Dr. Plowman was invited to speak about her research in in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) at the NEMO. She and Ms. Rosado also provided a workshop on treatment strategies for bulbar dysfunction for individuals with ALS at the Fondazione Salvatore Maugerie Scientific Institute of Rehabilitation in Pavia Italy, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases.
