RMHC Assistant Professor Receives VA Funding

Christina Dillahunt-Aspillaga, PhD, CRC, CVE, CLCP, was awarded New IPA 1/15/2015-9/30/2015 in the amount of $13,466. Funding for this research is from the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Rural Health. The title of the Project is "Community-Based Agricultural Initiatives for Transitioning Rural Veterans". The aim of this project is to enhance and improve VA partnerships for increased healthcare outreach and access by assessing the impact of Veteran-oriented community agricultural initiatives (CAI) on transitioning rural Veterans. The perspectives of Veterans, their families, and community stakeholders (e.g. small farmers) will be included for a holistic understanding. Dr. Dillahunt will be providing expertise on vocational rehabilitation counseling.
