SW Students Train for Advocacy Event

Director of Government Affairs & Special Projects Johanna Byrd, MSW, ACSW led a legislative advocacy workshop for undergraduate and graduate students on February 27. The workshop served as an introductory training and a "train the trainers" session for students attending NASW's Legislative Education and Advocacy Days in Tallahassee March 23-24. Part II of this training will be held in Tallahassee once USF students and hundreds of other social work students and faculty members gather together in the state Capitol at the end of the month to educate elected officials about legislation before the state legislature that is of interest to social workers and the clients they serve.
