CSD Student Wins Research Award
Laura Henning from the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders received a Research Excellence award at the Undergraduate Research and Arts Colloquium. As one of the winners, she received $250 and was recognized in front of the USF leadership at a special luncheon on April 23, 2015. Her project was titled, "Gesture Use in Children with Angleman Syndrome" is part of a larger project that her mentor Dr. Ruth Bahr is working on with Dr. Edwin Weeber and Joseph Grieco of Neurobiology of Learning and Memory Laboratory at the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute. Laura's project evaluated the nonverbal communication abilities of a group of children with AS as a means to shed light on their ability to develop verbal communication.
