Aging Studies Doctoral Student Awarded Graduate Merit Scholarship

Rosalyn RokerRosalyn Roker was selected to receive a graduate merit scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. for the 2013-2014 academic year. The scholarship is based on academic achievements and community service and involvement. In addition to her academic pursuits, Rosalyn is actively involved in her community. As a member of the Student Association for Aging Studies, she assists with the Meals on Wheels program. She was the chairman of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NC100BW) 25th Anniversary celebration and dinner which took place on September 15, 2013. NC100BW is a nationwide nonprofit volunteer organization that provides role models and scholarships for young girls. Rosalyn also actively serves on the Advisory Committee for the Miss Teenage Tampa Scholarship Pageant, Standards Committee, and 75th Anniversary Planning Committee for the Gamma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
