USF Speech-Language Pathology Nationally Ranked Among the Best Graduate Programs
The USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences’ Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) is top 55 in the nation among all SLP programs of public and private institutions, according to rankings released by US News and World Report.
The USF MS in SLP program prepares students for careers as clinical speech-language pathologists and provides opportunities for graduate students to acquire knowledge, leadership skills, problem solving strategies, and experience with professional and ethical issues in SLP. The program draws on the rich and diverse clinical opportunities within the university's Speech-Language Clinic, as well as clinical sites within the Tampa Bay area such as veterans’ and children's hospitals, private speech and hearing clinics, and rehabilitation clinics. These experiences are designed to provide the breadth and depth of clinical experiences necessary for clinical certification and state licensure.
According to U.S. News, rankings are generated through “ranking indicators” derived from statistical data reported by each institution. For each program, U.S. News evaluates key areas such as expert opinions in the field, opportunities for student engagement, resources for student support and career success, as well as faculty and student performance in terms of existing credentials, research impact, and metrics such as student job placement.
