Advisory Committee to the ASL Interpreter Training Program
2/23/2022
An Advisory Committee to the University of South Florida ASL Interpreter Training Program is being formed to gather information and discuss recommendations for the future of the program. The Advisory Committee includes members of the Deaf and interpreting communities. Over a series of meetings, the committee will explore ideas and suggestions, before ultimately presenting options for a path forward. To be clear, we have not yet made any decisions about the future of the program, and we are still accepting applications for students interested in this major. USF recognizes there is a need in the community for certified interpreters, and we are committed to offering training that prepares students for this field.
A meeting was originally planned for Friday, Feb. 25 but will be rescheduled to accommodate the availability of new committee members. The time and place for each Advisory Committee meeting will be posted on the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders website one week in advance.
