April 12, 2013: START-CSD's First Annual Interdisciplinary Research Symposium

The Student Association for Research and Teaching in Communication Sciences and Disorders (START-CSD) is a new student organization, formed by the PhD students in the CSD department at the University of South Florida. The purpose of this organization is to promote professional interactions and to share academic resources among students interested in teaching and conducting research in the speech, language and hearing sciences. In order to support student research and provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary interactions, START-CSD is hosting its first Annual Interdisciplinary Research Symposium on April 12th, 2013 at the University of South Florida.

A special feature of this year’s symposium is the diversity of research topics and collaborative work between departments at USF, including Communication Sciences and Disorders,  Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Gerontology, and Internal Medicine, as well as researchers from the University of Florida, UC-Davis and UC-San Diego.

This event will be held in PCD 3000, with poster presentations from 10:30am to 12:20pm, followed by an awards ceremony.   See below for the complete schedule of events, as well as a list of presenters and co-sponsors.

If you are interested in co-sponsoring this event and supporting START-CSD, please contact the student organizers at startcsdusf@gmail.com.
