Speech-Language Pathology Students Implement Fluency Program for Children

Speech-Language Pathology students of Dr. Nathan Maxfield in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders have successfully implemented the first ever intensive fluency program for school-age kidswho stutter. This program was completed in June and provided more than 20 hours of intensive stuttering modification treatment to 12 children from the Tampa Bay and Central Florida region. This program expands the speech-language pathology program's in fluency disorders and strengthens the program's referral stream for future programs.

SLP students included Althea Thomas, Rachel Degani, Tim Stockdale, Melissa Tomlin, Kelly Worthington, Erica Schirm, Jenna Graepel and Jenn Kordell. Congratulations!

A 3-week intensive program for fluency in adults and teens will be held from July 7-25; all are welcome to come and observe.
