"Day by Day" Art Show

Paintings and drawings by Tom and Hatsumi Day will be on display at the SouthShore Regional Library in Ruskin, FL. The art will be on display between December 2-31, 2016. An artist's reception will be held on December 14 from 6:30-8:00pm with brief remarks at 7:00pm.

In 2009, Tom suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with Broca's aphasia which compromises his ability to speak. Shortly after, he discovered a talent and passion for painting, something he could not do prior. His wife, Hatsumi, began taking him to art sessions and started painting herself. Together, the Days are able to bond and communicate through their art work.

Tom has been a participant in Arts@the Clinic, a collaborative Art in Health program with USF's Contemporary Art Museum and the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders.

The flyer for this event, which includes two of their sample works, can be found here.
