CBCS Opens New Computer Lab

CBCS Opens New Computer Lab

The College of Behavioral & Community Sciences recently completed renovation on a brand new computer lab. The new state-of-the-art facility houses over 30 computers and the latest research software. The computer lab is open to CBCS faculty, staff and students.

“The new computer lab will allow the College to increase its capacity to host a variety of functions,” said Patricia Cleveland, assistant director, CBCS.

The computer lab will be used for classroom instruction, trainings, workshops and open use hours for students within the College. The lab will be open for student use on Mondays from 1-5:30 p.m. throughout the fall semester.

“In the past, the College didn’t have a computer lab and students had to use open computer labs elsewhere on campus, added Cleveland. “This now provides students with an area to work on projects, check email and print documents.”

An Open House for the new computer lab will take place on September 15 at noon. This will allow faculty and staff to tour the new facility, see the different functions of the lab and learn how the lab could benefit their needs. In addition, a plaque will be unveiled to dedicate the computer lab in memory of Ann Strawn, a long time FMHI employee who passed away last year.
