Dr. Cohen is a Professor in the Department of Aging and Mental Health at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute. She is internationally known for her work concerning violence, Alzheimer's Disease, family caregiving, and long-term care. Dr. Cohen has testified before Congress, published ten books, and written more than 180 scientific articles on the topics of dementia, mental health, and violence among the elderly.
The Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute (FMHI) is a national leader in behavioral health research. The Institute houses several state and national research and training centers focused on improving practices in treating mental, addictive, and developmental disorders.
