Dr. Kearns profiles tracking device on Tampa's Bay News 9 and USF Newspaper The Oracle

Dr. William Kearns was recently interviewed by local media in Tampa regarding an indoors tracking system he developed that infers the presence of dementia from changes in movement patterns in elders living in assisted living facilities. Within several days, CNN picked up the story for national coverage.

With funding provided by the Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute, Kearns (principal investigator) and co-investigator James Fozard are working on the development of the software & testing the concept.
