Amy Nourie

Amy Nourie earned her MS in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida. Her professional experiences include various positions in the child welfare field, most notably 8 years at the Guardian ad Litem Program. Amy's passion for social work started as a teenager when she noticed the many injustices in the world and wanted to fix them. After this, Amy devoted her life to advocacy, equity, and the celebration of diversity. She is excited to be a part of USF because of the many research opportunities the University provides. As a Ph.D. student, Amy plans to focus her research on social justice and child welfare, with a specific interest in LGBTQ youth in foster care. When not in classes, Amy likes to spend time with her family, read, travel, and, most of all, play with her two adorable cats.
